Tenerife Explores Using Music Festival Site for World Cup Final Screening
Tenerife authorities are in negotiations to host a public screening of Sunday’s World Cup final by utilizing the existing infrastructure and large screens already set up for the Cook Music Fest.
Tenerife may host a public screening of this Sunday’s World Cup final. Local authorities are currently in talks to use the large screens and infrastructure already set up in the capital for the Cook Music Fest.
Island President Rosa Dávila confirmed that the administration is checking if it is logistically possible to use the festival site for the match. By utilizing the existing audiovisual equipment and security measures already in place for the music event, the council hopes to accommodate a large crowd without needing to build a new venue from scratch.
Discussions began last Tuesday, immediately after Spain reached the final. The project now depends on reaching an agreement with the festival’s promoters. If the talks are successful, the council and the promoters will release a joint statement with details on access and organization. Initial assessments suggest the site is well-suited to host an event of this scale.
Using existing infrastructure is a practical way to manage large crowds while saving on the time and costs that a standalone event would require. If finalized, the plan would allow the island to quickly meet the public's desire to watch the match together.
