Tenerife Expands TITSA Line 354 to Improve Northern Public Transport
Tenerife transport operator TITSA is expanding bus line 354 starting August 31 to provide San Juan de la Rambla with its first direct public transport connection between Icod de los Vinos and Puerto de la Cruz.
Public transport in the north of Tenerife is set for a major upgrade starting August 31. TITSA, the island’s transport operator, is adding San Juan de la Rambla to the route of line 354, which runs between Icod de los Vinos and Puerto de la Cruz via Los Realejos. This change follows years of requests from residents in San José and surrounding mid-altitude areas who previously had no direct public transport options.
The new route is the result of extensive talks between the local council and TITSA. The goal is to better connect residents to schools, healthcare, and workplaces by tailoring the service to the community’s actual needs.
The boost in service is significant. From Monday to Friday, the number of daily trips will increase, with nine departures from Icod to Puerto de la Cruz and eleven in the opposite direction. Operating hours will also be extended, running from 5:10 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. to cover both morning and evening commutes.
Weekend services are also being improved. On Saturdays, there will be eight trips toward Puerto de la Cruz and seven toward Icod. On Sundays, there will be six trips in each direction. These changes aim to reduce the reliance on private cars in a region where difficult terrain and scattered neighborhoods have long made getting around a challenge.
