Tenerife director Domingo de Luis's film Pizza Fritta, a blend of reality and fiction set in a Camorra-ridden Naples neighborhood, is competing at the 40th Mostra de Valéncia film festival.

Pizza Fritta, the first full-length movie by Tenerife director Domingo de Luis, is in the running at the 40th Mostra de Valéncia film festival, which runs from Thursday to November 2.

This movie, made with help from Italy and produced by María Santana, blends real life with fiction. It's set in Sanità, a working-class area of Naples known for its struggles with the Camorra.

We meet Carlo, a young director and actor who grew up there. He wants to create a show that lets the locals share their stories through the many dishes of Neapolitan cooking. He finds Ivan, a boy who dreams of becoming Naples' best chef, and Carlo is quick to bring him on board.

Domingo de Luis also directed the short film Última toma (2007), a single-shot film that has won many awards worldwide. He also directed the short films La niña (2016), Popoff (2016), and Zapato roto (2019), which have been shown at many international festivals.
