Tenerife Culture Board Presents €46M 2026 Budget
Tenerife's Island Council presented its 46 million euro 2026 culture budget at an Island Culture Board meeting in Arafo, detailing initiatives for cultural accessibility, an Arts District, and over 6 million euros in grants.
Tenerife's Island Council, through its Department of Culture and Museums, hosted a meeting of the Island Culture Board on Monday. The event took place at the Secundino Delgado Manor House in Arafo. Attendees included Councillor José Carlos Acha, Arafo's mayor Juan Ramón Martín, and many culture councillors and experts from towns across the island.
During the meeting, the department presented its 2026 budget, which totals 46 million euros. The Tenerife Island Council says this budget reinforces its dedication to making culture available to everyone. The department is also promoting a new Arts District, improving programs at cultural venues across the island, and providing over 6 million euros in grants through 10 support programs for the cultural sector.
The Island Council brought back the Island Culture Board this term to help develop cultural projects in all 31 of Tenerife's towns. This year, the board has already met in Santa Cruz, Arona, and Puerto de la Cruz.
