
Tenerife Crash Traps, Injures Two on Mountain Road
Two people were injured and hospitalized after their vehicle overturned on the TF-245 road in Tenerife on Carnival Tuesday, prompting a swift response from emergency services.
Emergency teams in Tenerife responded quickly and effectively after a road accident injured two people.
The accident occurred on the morning of Carnival Tuesday, February 17, 2026, on the TF-245 road, which climbs towards the summit in the Arafo area. For reasons still under investigation, a vehicle left the road and overturned. An 87-year-old woman and a 56-year-old man were inside and became trapped.
Emergency services were called at 9:06 AM. This led to the immediate deployment of the Canarian Emergency Service (SUC), sending a medical ambulance and a basic life support ambulance. Firefighters from the Tenerife Fire Consortium and the Civil Guard also rushed to the scene.
Firefighters worked to free the trapped occupants. Once freed, SUC paramedics gave them first aid. The woman had a moderate hip injury, while the man suffered a moderate head injury. Both were then taken by ambulance to Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria University Hospital for further treatment.
The Civil Guard is investigating what caused the accident on the mountain road. They are also making sure the area is safe for traffic.
