Tenerife Council Offers Free Improv Workshop for Young People
Tenerife's Island Council will offer a free beginner's theatre improvisation workshop for young people aged 12-35 on November 15th in Santa Cruz, as part of the Canarias Improvisa Festival.
Tenerife's Island Council, through its Youth and Training Department, will offer a free beginner's workshop on theatre improvisation on November 15th. It's open to young people aged 12 to 35.
The training will start at 5:00 p.m. at the Youth Information Center (CIJ) in Santa Cruz de Tenerife. This workshop is part of the program for the 4th Canarias Improvisa Festival, the Council announced.
Serafín Mesa, the Island Council's Councillor for Youth and Training, said this workshop is "an extraordinary way" to practice important skills like communication, confidence, and teamwork. It also helps boost creativity and improve how young people handle new challenges.
He added that the Island Council aims to connect young people with art through various accessible programs. These programs support their learning and training, and also strengthen the islands' cultural scene.
The workshop, which is funded by the Island Council, is part of the "Tenerife Joven y Educa" program. Spaces are limited, and interested individuals can register through the Tenerife Joven y Educa website.
The Canarias Improvisa Festival, organized by Imprudentes Teatro, will hold its fourth event in 2025. Its program will feature shows, workshops, and interactive experiences in La Laguna, Tacoronte, and Vilaflor de Chasna. The Island Council describes the festival as a key event in the Canary Islands, known for its interactive, sustainable, and audience-friendly approach where creativity happens "live" on stage.
