Tenerife Celebrates Over €1.3 Million La Primitiva Jackpot Win
A lucky ticket holder in Tenerife won over 1.3 million euros in last Thursday’s La Primitiva draw, while additional National Lottery prizes brought another 60,000 euros to the island.
Luck has struck the Canary Islands once again, with Tenerife emerging as a hotspot for state lottery wins this week. According to Loterías y Apuestas del Estado, the island celebrated a major payout following last Thursday’s La Primitiva draw on June 4.
The winning numbers were 16, 25, 32, 35, 38, and 40, with 18 as the bonus ball and 9 as the refund number. A single first-category ticket, purchased at the Repsol service station at kilometer 13 of the Carretera General del Norte in La Laguna, won a total of 1,302,539 euros. While this top prize went to Tenerife, second-category prizes were shared among winners in Ourense, Tarragona, and Vizcaya.
It was a lucky day for the island overall, as the National Lottery also brought more wins to Tenerife. Two tickets with the number 99242 each won 30,000 euros, totaling 60,000 euros. These winning tickets were sold on Avenida Asuncionistas in Santa Cruz and at the Barranco Las Torres service station in Adeje.
Beyond these individual wins, the results highlight a shift toward digital lottery play. While buying physical tickets remains popular, online betting is becoming more common, allowing people to play remotely without needing to keep track of a paper slip. Unlike traditional methods, where you must present a physical ticket to claim a prize, digital platforms automate the process, making it simpler for the user. Whether playing in person or online, the odds of winning remain the same, but the move toward digital reflects a growing preference for convenience and immediate results.
