Tenerife is set for a vibrant weekend featuring a film screening, a Michael Bublé tribute, Carnival celebrations, a religious event, a charity walk, and two major sports matches.

Tenerife is gearing up for a busy weekend, showing how much local organizations and businesses are focusing on boosting culture, sports, and leisure. Local media reports that there's everything from films and traditional festivals to major sporting events and charity fundraisers, making the island a hub for all kinds of activities.

Culturally, TEA Tenerife Espacio de las Artes will screen "Mi ilustrísimo amigo" this weekend at 7:00 PM. This film by Paula Cons delves into the emotional connection and letters between writers Emilia Pardo Bazán and Benito Pérez Galdós, portrayed by Lucía Veiga and Paco Déniz. The movie covers over thirty years of their relationship and more than a hundred letters. The ICAA has praised it for promoting gender equality, noting it's the first fictional film about the Canarian writer. Also, on Saturday at 8:30 PM, the Infanta Leonor Auditorium in Arona will host a musical tribute to Michael Bublé, featuring Josh Hindle performing jazz and swing classics.

The Santa Cruz de Tenerife Carnival celebrations are in full swing. On Saturday, the Rhythm and Harmony contest kicks off at 9:00 PM, followed by street parties. Sunday marks the first Day Carnival in the capital, with a concert by Afilarmónica Ni Fú-Ni Fá and Los Fregolinos in the Plaza del Príncipe at 11:00 AM.

An annual religious event will be held on February 15, when the Convent of Santa Catalina de Siena in La Laguna opens its doors. On the anniversary of her death, visitors can see the preserved remains of Sister María de Jesús de León y Delgado, also known as 'La Siervita'.

This Sunday in La Laguna, the 4th Charity Walk will take place to mark International Childhood Cancer Day. Open to everyone, the event starts at 10:00 AM in the Plaza del Cristo. It includes a symbolic 1.5-kilometer walk through the historic center, along with fun recreational and sports activities.

Finally, Saturday brings two big sports events. CD Tenerife plays Racing Club Ferrol at the Heliodoro Rodríguez López stadium at 5:30 PM. Later, at 7:00 PM, CB Canarias La Laguna Tenerife will play Río Breogán at the Santiago Martín pavilion.
