Tenerife Battles New Termite Infestation in Tacoronte
Tenerife's Island Council is working to eradicate a new infestation of American subterranean termites found in Tacoronte's La Caridad area, deploying specialist teams and planning a resident informational meeting.
Tenerife's Island Council, through its Natural Environment Department, is working to get rid of a new infestation of American subterranean termites (Reticulitermes flavipes) found in the La Caridad area of Tacoronte.
As soon as termites were identified in a garden in the area, the standard action plan was put into motion to control and deal with the outbreak.
Staff from the Tenerife Island Council, a specialist company (part of the Moth Eradication Program), and members of Tacoronte's town council have been sent to the site. To take preventative measures, an informational meeting will be held for residents in the affected area.
