Tenerife Auditorio Hosts 'Primavera Musical' Concert Series This Sunday
The Tenerife Federation of Music Bands will host a free "Primavera Musical" concert this Sunday at the Auditorio de Tenerife, featuring performances by ensembles from Guía de Isora, Garachico, and Santiago del Teide.
The Tenerife Federation of Music Bands returns to the Auditorio de Tenerife this Sunday for the latest installment of its "Primavera Musical" (Musical Spring) cycle. The auditorium continues to establish itself as the island's hub for symphonic music, and this event, supported by the Island Council, is free to the public. Doors to the Chamber Hall open at 11:30 a.m., and entry is first-come, first-served until capacity is reached.
The program highlights the vital role these local bands play in preserving musical heritage and bringing communities together. Three distinct groups will perform:
- The Virgen de la Luz band, led by Antonio Fariña, will perform a varied set. Their selection includes a piece by José Luis Peiró dedicated to the Cumbre Vieja volcano, alongside American-style arrangements by Bow Lowden.
- The Agrupación Musical Garachico, conducted by Antonio Jesús Gutiérrez, will focus on the identity of their town. They will perform works by Sergio Infante Pérez that celebrate the history and geography of the local area.
- The Santiago del Teide band, under the direction of Jorge Pujol, will close the event with a diverse program. Their performance ranges from festive, descriptive pieces by Manuel Morales Martínez to contemporary works by Satoshi Yagisawa and swing classics by Louis Prima.
These concerts do more than showcase musical talent; they strengthen the island’s cultural community by bringing ensembles from Guía de Isora, Garachico, and Santiago del Teide together on a major stage, ensuring high-quality music remains accessible to everyone.
