The Tenerife Aquatic Sports Center (CDAT) in Puerto de la Cruz officially opened its swimming pools today, December 15, featuring Olympic and 25-meter facilities built at a cost of over 13 million euros.

The Tenerife Aquatic Sports Center (CDAT), a sports facility managed by the Cabildo's public company Ideco, opened its swimming pools to the public today, December 15. The center will be open Monday to Friday from 6 AM to 10 PM, and on Saturdays and Sundays from 8 AM to 3:30 PM.

Located on Luis Lavaggi Street in Puerto de la Cruz, the CDAT was built to serve the entire island. Its goal is to meet the sporting needs of both the general public and high-level athletes. It's also suitable for hosting major competitions and technical training camps.

After several weeks of testing to ensure the facility was fully functional, the first users came in today to train and enjoy the aquatic area. The other services will open gradually over time.

The center, built on a 6,000 square meter plot in the Peñón area of Puerto de la Cruz, cost over 13 million euros to construct.

It includes a 50-meter Olympic swimming pool and a 25-meter pool, along with three training rooms, changing rooms, offices, an infirmary, a cafeteria, and a multi-purpose room.
