Tenerife’s local government has announced a €2.6 million investment to repair and upgrade the TF-213 and TF-523 roads as part of a broader initiative to improve island-wide infrastructure safety.

Tenerife’s local government, the Cabildo, has announced a €2.6 million investment to repair and upgrade two key roads: the TF-213 in Santa Úrsula and the TF-523 in Arafo. The plans are currently open for public review.

The project for the TF-213, costing over €630,000, aims to fix severe pavement damage, including cracks and surface wear, along the stretch between the La Victoria de Acentejo border and Avenida Doctor Pérez. Meanwhile, the TF-523 project has a budget of nearly €2 million and will cover a comprehensive overhaul of the road's first four kilometers. This plan has already received necessary technical approvals, including those regarding accessibility and water infrastructure.

Led by Cabildo President Rosa Dávila and Roads Councilor Dámaso Arteaga, the initiative is part of a broader strategy to prioritize preventive maintenance. The goal is to extend the lifespan of the island's roads and improve safety for all drivers.

The projects are now in a 20-day public consultation period. If no objections are raised, the Cabildo will move forward with the bidding process. Once work begins, the TF-523 improvements are expected to take four months to complete. This investment is part of an ongoing effort to modernize Tenerife’s road network, which has suffered from heavy use and aging over time.
