Temperatures to Rise Across Canary Islands as Trade Winds Strengthen
The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) reports rising temperatures across parts of the Canary Islands this Tuesday, accompanied by strengthening trade winds and variable cloud cover.
This Tuesday, May 12, temperatures are set to rise in parts of the Canary Islands, according to the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet). The weather will be typical for this time of year, with a mix of high clouds and trade winds that will strengthen throughout the afternoon.
In Tenerife, temperatures will range from 18°C to 25°C, with the most noticeable warmth in higher areas and on the eastern side of the island. Expect strong gusts on the central peaks, while the rest of the island will see breezes pick up as the day goes on.
The forecast for the other western islands varies:
- La Gomera: Temperatures will remain steady between 18°C and 24°C, with skies becoming cloudier by midday.
- La Palma: Expect variable cloud cover and temperatures between 17°C and 22°C, which is slightly cooler than in recent days.
- El Hierro: It will be the coolest of the islands, with temperatures between 11°C and 17°C. Conditions will remain stable, though winds will increase toward the evening.
While these weather patterns are normal for the Atlantic, caution is advised in higher areas where the terrain can make winds stronger. These conditions are important to keep in mind for outdoor activities and local maritime travel.
