Televisión Canaria to Broadcast Historic Bajada de la Virgen del Socorro in Güímar

Televisión Canaria is once again highlighting its role in preserving island culture with its upcoming coverage of the Bajada de la Virgen del Socorro in Güímar. This event is much more than a religious ceremony; it is one of the Canary Islands' oldest and most significant cultural traditions.

To cover the event, the station is adjusting its morning schedule this Monday, September 7, with special programming starting at 9:45 a.m. Viewers can watch the broadcast on television, the network’s website, or its YouTube channel. The day begins with a 6:00 a.m. mass led by the Bishop of the Diocese of San Cristóbal de La Laguna, Eloy Alberto Santiago Santiago. Following the service, the statue will be carried from the Church of San Pedro Apóstol to the Chapel of El Socorro. The procession is expected to arrive by noon, followed by a final mass.
