Televisión Canaria Debuts First Co-Produced Drama 'Sal de mi playlist'
Televisión Canaria's first co-produced drama series, ‘Sal de mi playlist’, premieres March 4 on its new streaming service Canarias Play, marking a significant step for local content with international distribution by Sony Music.
The Canary Islands' TV and film industry is about to reach an important milestone with the launch of ‘Sal de mi playlist’. This is the first drama series co-produced by Televisión Canaria, the regional public broadcaster. Developed with Glow Films Entertainment SL (Los Emotions) and distributed internationally by Sony Music, this project marks a big step for the broadcaster's own content strategy and for showcasing local productions to the world.
The series is set to premiere next Wednesday, March 4, in Santa Cruz de Tenerife. It will be shown exclusively on Canarias Play, Televisión Canaria's new free online streaming service (OTT platform). This highlights the channel's focus on digital storytelling and on-demand viewing, keeping up with current trends in TV and film. This effort aims not only to improve the public broadcaster's content but also to strengthen its presence in the increasingly competitive digital world.
‘Sal de mi playlist’ is a major production, featuring a cast of ten main actors. The story unfolds in 56 different locations across Tenerife, making the island a key part of the plot. A central focus of the production is its commitment to local talent. An entirely Canarian creative and technical team, from various islands in the archipelago, has led every stage of the project. This choice shows the region's ability to create high-quality shows with its own take on themes like self-improvement, friendship, and chasing dreams.
The soundtrack is another key part of this drama, especially with Sony Music involved in its distribution. The series includes eight original songs, written specifically for the story by Canarian artists, giving each episode a unique sound. With this launch, Televisión Canaria and Glow Films are not only showing their dedication to supporting the local industry but also positioning content made in the Canary Islands to compete in international streaming markets.
