Teina impressed with creativity at Pamela's Verbena!
In Teià, Verbena de la Pamela was celebrated in style, with impressive creative hats and a rich program of celebrations in honor of San Bartolomé.
In Tejina, they've shown their ingenuity once again! Yesterday, they celebrated Verbena de la Pamela – one of the coolest festivals in honor of San Bartolomé.
From three in the afternoon, people began gathering in the square in Tejina. The weather was wonderful, and music was playing from the Dorada Band and Grupo Guaydil. Everyone – locals and visitors alike – showed off their most original hats.
There were many groups of friends and families in the crowd who had created something incredible on their heads. You could see how much imagination and work went into these hats! Although, of course, there were also simple straw hats without decorations – this has become common in recent years.
The celebration began on July 31, when the statue of San Bartolomé was brought to the church, followed by the launch of 24 trueno rockets and the lighting of the Heart of Lights. There will be plenty of entertainment throughout August: sports competitions, religious ceremonies, cultural events – everything to have fun!
In the near future, there will be a competition of poems and couplets (the winners will be announced today at 8:30 PM at the Unión Tejina theater), the Festival of Art (on Tuesday), the Parade of Floats (on Friday the 22nd at 9:30 PM), and the procession of San Bartolomé with fireworks and traditional firecrackers (on the night of Saturday the 23rd).
But the most important event is when the famous Hearts of the Three Streets are brought into the Tejina square on Sunday the 24th at 11:30 AM, accompanied by musicians.
They will stand there until the evening of Monday the 25th, and then they will be dismantled, and the fruits and cakes they are made of will be distributed to everyone who wants them.
