Tecnológica Santa Cruz Rescheduled for May 14–17 Following Weather Delay
The 15th edition of Tecnológica Santa Cruz will take place from May 14–17 across MUNA and TEA, featuring a sold-out program of tech workshops, gaming tournaments, and industry discussions aimed at fostering digital innovation in the Canary Islands.
The 15th edition of Tecnológica Santa Cruz, which was postponed in March due to bad weather, is officially set for May 14–17. The Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council’s Development Society confirmed that the event will be held across two main venues: the Museum of Nature and Archaeology (MUNA) and the Tenerife Arts Space (TEA).
With all in-person tickets already sold out, the event continues to be a key indicator of the Canary Islands' digital growth. The program remains largely the same as originally planned, aiming to connect the tech world with local businesses and educators.
The event kicks off on Thursday, May 14, with "TecnoEduca," focusing on career guidance and digital challenges in schools. The afternoon will feature talks from notable figures in the digital space, including VICIO co-founder Aleix Puig and various content creators.
Practical learning is also a priority, with "TecnoLabs" workshops covering artificial intelligence and personal branding. On Friday, May 15, the "TecnoFight" initiative will give members of Generation Z a platform to discuss building tech careers within the Canary Islands to help prevent local talent from moving away.
The weekend shifts to the TEA for "TecnoPlay," the event’s hub for gaming and competition. The schedule includes tournaments for popular titles like Tekken 8 and EA Sports FC 26, alongside a chess exhibition featuring international stars Pepe Cuenca, David Martínez, and Rey Enigma. Additionally, the "TecnoHack" hackathon will challenge eight teams to use municipal open data to develop solutions for urban improvement.
Organizer Carmen Pérez emphasized that the event remains committed to making technology accessible to everyone, with main presentations available via live stream. By blending digital culture, gaming, and urban sustainability, Santa Cruz de Tenerife continues to position itself as a growing hub for young talent and business innovation.
