TEA Tenerife Espacio de las Artes, in Tenerife's capital, will be screening Paola Randi's film, The Story of Frank and Nina, from this Friday until Sunday at 7:00 p.m.
This realistic fable explores themes of friendship and dignity during challenging times. The film, which won the Orizzonti Extra Lanterna Magic Award at the Venice Film Festival, is set on the outskirts of an Italian city. Here, three lonely young people – Frank, Nina, and Gollum – meet and form a powerful friendship. This bond gives them the strength to resist violence and abandonment. Together, they search for a way out of their difficult lives, discovering that hope can emerge even in the darkest situations.
Starring Gabriele Monti, Ludovica Nasti, Samuele Teneggi, and Marco Bonadei, the film is shown in its original Italian version with Spanish subtitles. It offers viewers a sensitive, understated, and deeply human story, portraying adolescence as a period of resilience against exclusion. The narrative is told by Gollum, a young man who can only make guttural sounds when he tries to speak, so he expresses himself by writing messages on the city walls.
