TEA Tenerife to Host Premiere of Milagros Mumenthaler’s 'Las corrientes'

This weekend, TEA Tenerife Espacio de las Artes will host the premiere of Las corrientes, the latest film from Argentine director Milagros Mumenthaler. The movie, which explores mental health and the pressures women face in their professional lives, will be screened from Friday to Sunday at 7:00 p.m.

Las corrientes—which won the RTVE-Otra Mirada Award at the San Sebastián International Film Festival—follows Lina, a 34-year-old fashion industry professional. After a sudden incident at a gala in Switzerland triggers a personal crisis, Lina returns to Buenos Aires. There, she struggles to maintain a sense of normalcy while dealing with an internal breakdown that threatens her stability.

The film joins a growing movement in modern cinema that examines the hidden burdens women carry in their daily lives. It features a strong ensemble cast led by Isabel Aimé Gonzalez-Sola, alongside Esteban Bigliardi, Ernestina Gatti, Jazmín Carballo, Emma Fayo Duarte, Sara Bessio, Claudia Sánchez, and Patricia Mouzo.
