TEA Tenerife to Host Final Events as Óscar Domínguez Exhibition Closes Sunday
TEA Tenerife Espacio de las Artes concludes its exhibition on the correspondence between Óscar Domínguez and Marcelle Ferry this Sunday, featuring final guided tours and literary talks on Saturday.
The exhibition exploring the correspondence between Óscar Domínguez and Marcelle Ferry is closing at TEA Tenerife Espacio de las Artes this Sunday. Since opening in late March, the project has offered a rare look at the lesser-known side of the Tenerife-born artist, focusing on his life and work between 1935 and 1938.
Beyond showcasing iconic pieces like Le dimanche, the exhibition highlighted Domínguez not just as a surrealist icon, but as an intellectual deeply engaged with the political climate of his era. Curated by Isidro Hernández, the collection used the pair's personal letters to show how Domínguez’s private life shaped his creative development.
To mark the end of the exhibition, two final events will take place this Saturday. At 11:00 a.m., curator Isidro Hernández will lead a guided tour to discuss the details of the couple's artistic and personal relationship. At 12:00 p.m., poet Olvido García Valdés will present The Tightrope: The Poem, The Art, a talk exploring the connections between Domínguez’s visual art and modern literature. Both events are free to the public, subject to capacity, and serve as a final tribute to an artist who remains a vital figure in the 20th-century Spanish avant-garde.
