Tenerife Espacio de las Artes hosts a free multidisciplinary performance of Violeta Gil’s poetry collection Andábamos maravillados this Saturday at 7:00 p.m.

This weekend, Santa Cruz de Tenerife hosts a unique blend of literature and performance art. On Saturday at 7:00 p.m., TEA (Tenerife Espacio de las Artes) will present Andábamos maravillados, a multidisciplinary project that combines the poetry of Violeta Gil with experimental sound.

Part of the Por Asalto live arts series, the show brings Gil’s latest poetry collection—published this year by Arrebato Libros—to the stage. Rather than a traditional reading, the performance is a dialogue between Gil and musician Marcos Nadie, exploring themes of personal relationships and generational divides. The show also features live sound design by Bruno Borbolla and lighting by Iván Mozetich. Admission is free until the venue reaches capacity.

This project stems from Gil’s recent residency at the museum, supported by the Ministry of Culture’s Tabacalera program. After focusing on long-form narrative, the author returns to poetry with a performance that balances spoken word with musical composition.

The show uses intimacy to examine modern social tensions, encouraging the audience to reflect on contemporary life. It is supported by the Madrid Community Autumn Festival and Arrebato Libros, continuing Gil’s artistic focus on rhythm and the complexities of the modern generation.
