Taxi Driver Assaulted at Knifepoint in Santa Cruz de Tenerife
The Santa Cruz de Tenerife Taxi Guild Association has urged drivers to remain vigilant after a taxi driver was threatened with a bladed weapon during a violent daylight assault on Friday.
Public transport safety in Santa Cruz de Tenerife is under scrutiny again following a violent attack this Friday. The local Taxi Guild Association reports that a driver was assaulted in broad daylight, highlighting the ongoing risks taxi drivers face while on the job.
The incident occurred around 3:30 p.m. when the driver was threatened with a bladed weapon. In response, the association has urged all members to remain vigilant and work closely with the police to help catch the attacker.
The suspect is described as a man between 40 and 43 years old with a thin build, dark complexion, and graying facial hair. He has visible tattoos on his arms and legs, as well as distinct marks on his face.
This attack has reignited concerns about the safety of taxi drivers working in urban areas. The association is advising drivers not to intervene or confront the suspect themselves. Instead, they are instructed to report any sightings or information directly to the police to ensure their own safety. The investigation is ongoing as authorities continue to gather witness statements.
