Télex Cultural Gathering Returns to Los Silos as Dedicated Film Forum
The sixth edition of the Télex cultural gathering takes place this Saturday at Los Silos’ Sala Pérez Enríquez, featuring a day of film screenings, discussions, and a closing performance by artist Javier Goldin.
The sixth edition of the Télex cultural gathering, hosted by the La Casa del Telégrafo association in Los Silos, returns this year as a dedicated film forum. The event will take place this Saturday at the Sala Pérez Enríquez, located in the former San Sebastián Convent.
This year’s program explores memory and audiovisual art, beginning at 11:30 a.m. with the unveiling of the official poster. The artwork, a photograph of London’s The Gate cinema by Tenerife-based artist Karina Beltrán, is part of the Atlantic Center of Modern Art (CAAM) collection. Beltrán’s diverse artistic background sets the stage for a day focused on visual research and authorship.
The film program features three talk-and-screening sessions:
- 11:45 a.m.: Filmmaker Josep Vilageliu discusses his work, which emphasizes independent cinema and education over commercial trends.
- 6:00 p.m.: A look at the documentary and fiction work of David Delgado San Ginés, highlighting his latest short film, Sonidos en el monte (2025), a tribute to the poet Alonso Quesada.
- 7:15 p.m.: Graphic designer Ismael García presents his latest project, Tres viajes a oriente, alongside his previous films, La montaña y la forma and Teoría del lugar.
By moving beyond simple screenings to encourage critical discussion, Télex-6 highlights the role of local cultural spaces in preserving regional cinematic history. The event concludes at 8:00 p.m. with Salto al vacío, a performance by Tenerife-based musician and visual artist Javier Goldin. Known for his work with modular synthesizers and sound experimentation, Goldin’s concert will bring the day to a close, celebrating the intersection of different artistic disciplines.
