Summer Pop Tenerife Offers Youth Discounts to Boost Cultural Access
The Summer Pop Tenerife festival, taking place on September 13, is offering ticket discounts for European Youth Card holders and accepting the Youth Cultural Bonus to increase accessibility for young attendees.
Public authorities are working to make live events more accessible to young people by removing financial barriers. As part of this effort, the upcoming Summer Pop Tenerife festival has joined the European Youth Card program. This, along with the use of the Youth Cultural Bonus, is designed to encourage more young people to attend the event on September 13 at the Santa Cruz de Tenerife Fairgrounds.
Supported by the Canary Islands Government’s Directorate General for Youth, the initiative allows European Youth Card holders (aged 12 to 30) to receive a 20% discount on tickets purchased through authorized platforms. Those turning eighteen this year can also use their Youth Cultural Bonus to cover costs, reflecting a broader push to make long-form events—this one lasting over six hours—more affordable.
The festival begins at 4:00 p.m. and serves as a major platform for the local music industry. Hosted by Tony Aguilar, the lineup features national pop stars like Álvaro de Luna and Leire Martínez, alongside a strong focus on Canarian talent. Local artists such as Lucho RK, Locoplaya, Ruslana, Danny Romero, and Dellacruz will perform, joined by emerging acts including Lewis Potter, Playacoco, Postcode, Mel Ömana, Melania, and Fátima Falcón.
The event is backed by the Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council, the Canary Islands Government, and various private sponsors, and will feature dedicated food and leisure areas. Tickets are available through official channels, highlighting a model that combines commercial entertainment with direct support for youth cultural engagement.
