Storm Regina has caused major disruptions across the Canary Islands, leading to 220 reported incidents, widespread power outages in Tenerife, and a downed TV signal amidst strong winds and rain.

Storm Regina has caused major disruptions to essential services and infrastructure across the Canary Islands. The Canary Islands' emergency services (CECOES 112) reported about 220 incidents since the storm began. Over 60 of these happened just between Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning.

Most of these incidents were minor and mainly hit the province of Las Palmas. They included things like falling tree branches, signs, panels, and bins, as well as small landslides. A major consequence has been damage to power lines, leading to electricity outages in many places.

Power company Endesa confirmed power cuts in several towns in Tenerife, mostly in the island's northeast. La Laguna was the worst-hit area, with the most customers losing power, but services were expected to gradually return to normal during the morning. At the same time, Televisión Canaria's signal was also down in northern Tenerife, between Izaña and Los Realejos. This was due to a tower in Izaña freezing and strong winds disrupting radio connections.

For Wednesday, Tenerife's weather forecast predicted continuous light to moderate rain in the north, with possible showers in the morning. The rest of the island might see some light, scattered rain. Snow was expected only above 2,000 meters in the mountains during the first half of the day. Strong northwest winds blew overnight, with gusts up to 100 km/h in areas like the northwest ridge, high parts of the northeast, the southeast side of the metropolitan area, and especially in the high peaks and central mountain range. After midday, the wind was expected to shift north and become moderate.
