Storm Francis Grounds Five Canary Flights, Triggers Airport Alerts

Storm Francis has begun to affect the Canary Islands, causing five flight cancellations on Thursday, January 1st. Aena reported that these cancellations impacted flights connecting La Palma and Tenerife.

Specifically, two flights from La Palma to Tenerife North were cancelled, along with one flight from Tenerife North to La Palma.

Additionally, two other flights were initially diverted but then cancelled. These were routes between Tenerife North and La Palma, and Tenerife South and La Palma.

Enaire advises passengers to check their flight status due to the storm's adverse weather conditions across the archipelago. They noted that these conditions are leading to safety regulations being implemented at the airports of Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, and Tenerife South.
