Sting Brings '3.0' Tour to Canary Islands, Highlighting Region's Growing Cultural Appeal
Sting is bringing his intimate "Sting 3.0" tour to the Canary Islands, marking a significant milestone for the region's ability to host major international musical acts.
Sting’s visit to the Canary Islands this week is a significant moment for the region’s cultural scene. It highlights a growing trend among promoters to bring major international tours to the islands, proving that local venues are fully capable of hosting large-scale events outside of the mainland’s usual circuit.
The tour, titled Sting 3.0, features a stripped-back, intimate format. Instead of a full orchestra, the former Police frontman is performing as a trio, joined by guitarist Dominic Miller and percussionist Chris Maas. This setup allows the group to revisit hits from both his time with The Police and his successful solo career with a fresh, focused sound.
The Spanish leg of the tour began last Tuesday with a sold-out show in Barcelona, proving that Sting remains as popular as ever in the country. After performing at the Gran Canaria Arena and tonight’s show at the Palmetum in Santa Cruz de Tenerife—which begins at 9:00 p.m.—the musician will continue his busy schedule. He is set to perform in Cádiz, Málaga, and Seville before heading to Portugal and continuing his tour across Europe.
