Stable Weather Forecast for Canary Islands with Strong Gusts Expected in Tenerife Peaks
The Canary Islands will experience stable, mild weather this Wednesday with moderate temperatures and light rain possible, though Aemet has issued a warning for strong wind gusts at the high peaks of Tenerife.
The Canary Islands will see stable weather this Wednesday, according to the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet). Conditions remain much the same as in recent days, though there will be some minor changes in wind and cloud cover.
Temperatures will stay moderate, generally ranging between 16°C and 23°C in the island capitals. In Santa Cruz de Tenerife and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, thermometers will reach highs of 23°C. Valverde will be cooler, with temperatures between 13°C and 19°C, while Arrecife, Puerto del Rosario, and Santa Cruz de La Palma can expect highs of 22°C to 23°C.
Expect cloudy intervals across the islands, with cloud cover increasing around midday on La Palma, La Gomera, and El Hierro. There is a slight chance of light, scattered rain, mainly in the north and east of the western islands and Gran Canaria toward the end of the day.
Wind is the main factor to watch. Aemet has warned of strong gusts at the high peaks of Tenerife, where a southwest wind will persist at high altitudes. Across the rest of the archipelago, a light to moderate northeast wind will prevail. Stronger gusts are expected on the southeastern and western slopes of Gran Canaria, as well as the eastern and western ends of La Gomera. Coastal breezes will continue in the south and west, with winds shifting to the north across most of the islands by the afternoon.
Overall, it will be a day of transition with no major weather warnings, aside from the strong gusts expected in the Tenerife peaks.
