Special Christmas Lottery: €2.772 Million Prize Pool

This Monday, December 22, the special Christmas lottery draw will give out a huge total of 2.772 million euros in prizes.

You can start claiming your winnings from the afternoon of December 22, once the winning numbers are confirmed and the system is ready. Make sure to claim your prize by March 23, 2026, as you only have three months from the day after the draw to do so. Loterías y Apuestas del Estado (LAE) reminds everyone that it's absolutely essential to show your winning ticket or receipt to claim any prize, even if it seems obvious.

For prizes under 2,000 euros per ticket, you can collect them from the afternoon of December 22 at any of the 10,869 official Loterías sales points. You can choose to receive these smaller prizes in cash or via Bizum.

If your prize is 2,000 euros or more, you'll need to claim it at an authorized bank, specifically BBVA or CaixaBank.

For tickets bought online at www.loteriasyapuestas.es, larger prizes will be paid directly into the bank account you've linked to your gaming account, after verification once the draw is complete. Smaller prizes will go straight into your online gaming account. However, if the amount exceeds certain limits, it will also be transferred to your linked bank account.

If your winning ticket or receipt is damaged, don't worry. Take it to an LAE sales point, fill out and sign a 'Prize Payment Request' form, and hand over the damaged ticket. It will then be sent to Loterías for official verification.

For shared tickets, if the prize is 2,000 euros or more, all individuals involved must be identified when claiming the prize at the bank.

In the unfortunate event that your ticket is stolen, it's best to report it to the police immediately. If that stolen ticket turns out to be a winner, you can then use your police report in court to start the process of claiming your prize.
