The Circle of Spanish Series Professionals has launched the inaugural Golden Ring Awards to recognize excellence in national television production through a peer-voted process culminating in a June 20 gala.

Spain’s audiovisual industry is reaching a new milestone with the launch of the Golden Ring Awards, an initiative designed to set a high standard for national television production. The Circle of Spanish Series Professionals has now grown to 511 members, giving the organization the representative strength needed to launch its first competitive awards.

This move addresses a long-standing need for the industry to regulate and recognize its own work. Over the last decade, Spain’s production volume and export capacity have soared, and these awards aim to provide legitimacy by relying on the expertise of industry professionals rather than commercial popularity or audience ratings.

Voting is currently underway and will remain open until April 24. From the 93 original entries, members will narrow down the field to create a shortlist, which will be announced in May. The winners will be revealed at an awards gala on June 20 at the Tenerife Trade Fair Grounds.

By centering the selection process on a body of over 500 experts, the industry hopes to highlight creative and technical talent while providing a clear measure of the health of Spanish fiction. The goal is to elevate the prestige of local productions, following the model of international academies that have successfully turned their awards into a global seal of quality.
