According to El Día, the Tenerife native has begun a new role at Al-Nasr Club in Oman, adding to an impressive list of previous coaching stints in Kuwait, South Korea, Lithuania, Uzbekistan, and the Maldives.
Hernández arrives in Oman following a highly successful period in the Maldives, where he led Maziya S&RC to a historic treble—winning the league title, the national cup, and the super cup—while also securing a place in the AFC Challenge League. He now faces a new challenge at Al-Nasr: building on the team's third-place finish last season to mount a serious title bid against the league's established favorites.
Beyond the pitch, Hernández has praised the unique environment of his new home, Salalah. Unlike the typical arid climate of the Arabian Peninsula, the city experiences a summer weather phenomenon known as Khareef, which brings cooler temperatures and lush, green landscapes. He notes that this comfortable climate has helped him settle in quickly, allowing him to focus on his squad, which he has already led to a 2-0 victory over Fanja SC in his official debut.
