Spain's Largest Leroy Merlin Store Opens in La Laguna
Leroy Merlin officially opened its new 40,000 square meter store in La Laguna, Spain, a €65 million investment that makes it the company's largest in the country and features innovative shopping solutions like a "Drive-In" system and solar power.
The new Leroy Merlin store in La Laguna officially opened this Wednesday. At 40,000 square meters, it is now the company's largest store in Spain.
This new store, built with a 65 million euro investment, replaces the old Los Majuelos location and aims to completely change the shopping experience in Tenerife. Located on San Juan Bosco street, it is nearly twice the size of the previous store.
The space features Spain's largest display of ceramics, bathrooms, and kitchens, offering 1,500 different models to inspire home renovations for Tenerife residents. The project also includes a 600-space car park and an extra 7,000 square meters of retail space, which will further boost the local area.
A major new feature for both home renovators and professionals is the 'Drive-In' system. This allows vans and cars to drive directly into a large construction materials area. Customers can load heavy items and pay quickly, without needing to push trolleys around the main store.
The store also uses advanced technology. It was built with strict energy efficiency in mind. With 1,000 solar panels, the store can generate its own power during peak daylight hours.
The new Leroy Merlin in La Laguna will open its doors to the public this Thursday, January 29, offering continuous operating hours.
Employing 300 staff and working with over 125 Canarian suppliers, this opening strengthens La Laguna's position as a key commercial hub in the Canary Islands. It replaces the old warehouse with a modern space that combines inspiration and technology.
