Spain’s Círculos de Bellas Artes Form National Cultural Network
The Círculos de Bellas Artes in Tenerife, Madrid, and Palma de Mallorca have formed a strategic partnership to create a unified national cultural network aimed at fostering collaboration and resource sharing.
A new partnership between three of Spain’s most iconic cultural institutions has officially moved from a long-term goal to a concrete plan. The Círculos de Bellas Artes in Tenerife, Madrid, and Palma de Mallorca have signed a collaboration agreement to move beyond local management and create a unified network connecting these major artistic hubs.
Announced this Tuesday in Tenerife, the initiative aims to professionalize and link cultural ecosystems at a time when spreading art and culture across the country is a top priority. The project, which coincides with the Tenerife center’s upcoming centenary (1925–2025), is designed as a traveling work cycle that will continue with future meetings in the Balearic Islands and Madrid.
The launch event was attended by high-level representatives, highlighting strong institutional support for the project. The Tenerife delegation was led by vice presidents Ana Lorca and Samuel Cabrera. They were joined by Valerio Rocco, director of the Madrid CBA, and a team from the Palma CBA, including president Pedro Jesús Lorente, vice president Judit Vega, and board member Francisco Barceló. The meeting was supported by the CajaCanarias Foundation and the Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council, with Mayor José Manuel Bermúdez, island Minister of Culture José Carlos Acha, and the Canary Islands' Director of Cultural Innovation, Cristóbal de la Rosa, all in attendance.
This alliance is a key part of Tenerife’s "New Circle" strategy, which seeks to modernize the organization and increase its influence. The core idea is that culture has a greater impact when geographical barriers are removed. By working together, these three institutions hope to create a national network that uses the exchange of ideas and resources to drive cultural change.
