Journalist Sonia Moreno is launching her book, "Morocco, the Uncomfortable Neighbor," this Wednesday in Tenerife. The book explores Morocco's strategic goals, its territorial claims, and its economic ambitions. It also examines how Morocco views Spain, especially at a time when the country's international reputation is being tested.

The presentation will be held in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, at the Association of Journalists' headquarters, beginning at 7:30 PM. Moreno will be joined by journalist Marta Cantero.

Morocco is currently facing internal challenges with youth protests highlighting widespread social dissatisfaction. This makes it a relevant time to understand why Morocco is so important to Spain. This importance spans international relations, trade, migration, and security. Sonia Moreno's book looks at the reign of Mohammed VI, a system that balances modernization with tight control by intelligence services and the suppression of dissent.
