Timaginas Teatro's 17th annual sold-out performance of José Zorrilla's "Don Juan Tenorio," featuring Armando Jerez in the title role, continues its All Saints' Day tradition at La Laguna's Leal Theater.

The Leal Theater in La Laguna continues its tradition of showing "Don Juan Tenorio" around All Saints' Day. For 17 years, the Tenerife company Timaginas Teatro has been performing this classic play, one of the most popular ever.

This year, there will be just one show, this Friday night at 8:00 PM. Tickets for this performance sold out days ago. Around twenty actors and extras will bring José Zorrilla's famous story to life once more.

Armando Jerez will again play Don Juan Tenorio, a role he's had for over 25 years, since he started acting. María Rodríguez, who also helps direct the play, will return as Brígida. They first performed this play together in Madrid in 1999.

Andreas Figueiredo Trujillo will play Don Luis Mejía, Sandra Hernández de León will be Doña Inés, and Angelo Olivier will portray the Comendador. More than 20 other actors and extras, many of whom have been with the production since its early days in the Canary Islands, complete the cast.

Once again, Don Juan Tenorio will make a bet with Don Luis Mejía, planning to steal his future wife. He also takes Doña Inés from the convent. This leads him to experience a pure love that will save him from his past wrongs. To tell this story, the company will use seven different stage sets, all designed in a traditional, period-accurate style. Some of the costumes, managed by Carmen Rodríguez, the company's art director, have been updated for this show.

A magical scene with floating spirits will create the miracle of the hero's redemption through love. The audience, like Don Juan and Don Luis, has always been there to witness it.
