Societat Doctor Alonso’s multidisciplinary production La felicidad no importa premieres on July 16 at Teatro Leal, blending live performance and cinema to explore the pressures of modern life.

The LAV-C program is once again exploring the intersection of performing arts and cinema with its latest project, La felicidad no importa (Happiness Doesn't Matter), part of the Danza en Breve series. Moving away from traditional formats, this multidisciplinary piece blends live music, acting, and film.

Directed by Tomàs Aragay and produced by Imma Bové, the performance breaks the "fourth wall" by moving beyond a standard film screening. Performer Forner Lafuente and musician Nilo Gallego will be on stage, accompanying the film in real time. This approach reflects the Societat Doctor Alonso company’s goal to blur the lines between recorded reality and live performance.

The story follows a cultural center employee, using their daily life to examine the pressures of modern living. Written by Aragay and Lafuente, the play tackles themes like job insecurity, social isolation in a hyper-connected world, and the search for meaning in today’s generation. It continues the company’s tradition of experimenting with new theatrical styles to reflect on the human experience.

The performance will take place on July 16 at 8:00 PM in the Chamber Hall of the Teatro Leal. Tickets are available now via the tickety platform. With this premiere, Societat Doctor Alonso continues its mission to create theater that does more than entertain—it challenges audiences to rethink how we live and navigate an uncertain world.
