Six people, including two children, were injured in a multi-vehicle crash on Tenerife’s TF-1 motorway near Fañabé that is now under investigation by the Civil Guard.

Road safety on Tenerife’s main highways is under scrutiny again following a multi-vehicle crash this morning on the TF-1 motorway in Adeje. The 112 Canary Islands emergency service reported that the accident, which occurred near Fañabé, involved several cars and left six people injured, including two children.

Emergency teams were alerted at 10:46 a.m. and dispatched four medical units to the scene. Paramedics stabilized the injured before taking them to Hospiten Sur and the Hospital del Sur.

Most of those involved are expected to recover well. A 2-year-old, an 11-year-old, an 18-year-old, a 45-year-old woman, and one other person suffering from neck pain all sustained minor injuries. A 48-year-old man was the most seriously hurt, suffering from moderate trauma.

The Civil Guard managed traffic at the scene and is now investigating the cause of the crash, with assistance from the local fire department during the rescue. As one of the island's busiest routes, the TF-1 remains a high-risk area where even minor errors can lead to serious pile-ups. Investigators are now working to determine if traffic conditions or driver distraction played a role, a key step in preventing future accidents on this vital road.
