Tenerife firefighters had a busy weekend! They had to extinguish fires in houses and cars, as well as rescue people from wrecked cars in different parts of the island.
On Saturday, around 10:00 PM, rescuers from La Laguna and volunteers from San Cristóbal de La Laguna rushed to the 4th kilometer of the TF-2 highway. A car had overturned there. They quickly stabilized the car, pulled the driver out, and handed him over to the medics. The Civil Guard also assisted them.
And on Sunday, in Santa Cruz, firefighters extinguished garbage that had caught fire on Mayantigo Street. The call came in at 1:00 PM. Local police worked with them.
Friday was also restless. In Arona, at 10:00 PM, an apartment in a hotel caught fire. Firefighters from the San Miguel park quickly arrived, extinguished the fire, and ventilated the premises. It is said that the flames had already been somewhat subdued with fire extinguishers before their arrival. Medics, the Civil Guard, and local police also worked at the scene.
On the same day, in Santa Cruz, at 10:00 PM, rescuers were clearing the TF-28 road after an accident. Oil had spilled onto the asphalt, so everything had to be cleaned up. Local police assisted them. A little earlier, they were called to extinguish dry grass that was burning in a ravine near the TF-1 highway, in the Los Alisios area.
And finally, in Tacoronte, on Friday afternoon, a car caught fire while driving on the TF-5 highway. When firefighters from La Laguna arrived, the car was already in flames. They quickly extinguished the fire. The Civil Guard and local police were also involved in this incident.
