The Civil Guard arrested seven people in 'Operation Embarcadero-Bambú', dismantling a criminal group that trafficked illegal firearms, operated a hidden weapon workshop, and shipped large quantities of cocaine between Seville, Madrid, and Tenerife.

The Civil Guard has arrested seven people as part of 'Operation Embarcadero-Bambú'. This investigation has broken up a criminal group that operated in Seville and Tenerife.

Police sources say the group bought, changed, and sold illegal firearms. They also arranged for large amounts of cocaine to be shipped to the Canary Islands.

This operation is a major success against illegal gun dealing. Security forces see this as a top priority because it's often linked to other serious crimes.

During the investigation, officers searched seven homes in various towns across Seville and Tenerife. They also checked several warehouses and offices used by the group. Inside, they found over 30 firearms of different types, along with more than 1,300 bullets ready to be used.

Investigators also seized drugs, expensive watches and jewellery, money counting machines, devices to detect police surveillance, and over 30,000 euros in cash. Officers say these items show how the criminal group was set up financially and operationally.

One of the most important finds was a hidden workshop in a warehouse. This workshop was used to make and change weapons. It had special tools and a soundproofed bench where customers could test the altered guns before buying them.

Such workshops are very dangerous because they allow powerful, modified weapons to circulate freely.

The investigation also confirmed that the group moved more than 50 kilograms of cocaine every week from Seville and Madrid to Tenerife. During the operation, police stopped several drug shipments, seizing over 20 kilograms of cocaine in total.

Seville's Investigating Court No. 14 is handling the case. The court has ordered five of the arrested individuals to be held without bail, while the other two are awaiting a court decision.
