Servatur Hotels & Resorts has marked its 50th anniversary by expanding into Tenerife with the acquisition and rebranding of the former Hotel Varadero as the 312-room Servatur Isora Suites.

Servatur Hotels & Resorts has reached a major milestone in its 50th anniversary year by expanding into Tenerife. The company has officially acquired the former Hotel Varadero in Puerto de Santiago, Guía de Isora, marking its first owned property on the island.

The deal, arranged by the consultancy firm Colliers, is part of a wider growth strategy that has seen the chain add four new properties to the Canary Islands this year, building on its existing success in Gran Canaria. The new 312-room, four-star complex will be rebranded as Servatur Isora Suites. The company plans to introduce its signature "Holiday Resort" model, which focuses on providing guests with a complete experience—including wellness, dining, and leisure activities—all within the hotel grounds.

The acquisition includes the retention of 180 staff members. Servatur also plans to invest in modernizing the 21,000-square-meter property, which features four swimming pools and is located near the popular Playa de la Arena.

Backed by strong financial support and international distribution channels, the project reflects the company's confidence in the Tenerife market. Servatur’s leadership, Kai Mikaelsen and Michael Lund Jensen, view this move as a key step in strengthening the brand’s presence in one of Spain’s most competitive tourism regions. Moving forward, the company aims to upgrade the resort’s facilities to meet the rising demand for high-quality, family-oriented vacation experiences.
