Police are searching for a young man suspected of a series of violent knife robberies across several towns in southern Tenerife, including a recent supermarket attack, and believe he may be using a white Seat Ibiza with fake plates.

Police are searching for a young man suspected of a series of violent robberies across several towns in southern Tenerife. These robberies have taken place in recent weeks, and in some cases, he has used a large knife to threaten his victims.

One of the most recent attacks happened last Sunday afternoon at a supermarket in the Parque La Reina area of Arona. The thief again used a knife to terrorize staff as they were closing the store and stole the day's takings. A manager at the supermarket yesterday refused to comment on the incident.

Police are also investigating whether the same person is responsible for other violent robberies in Adeje or San Miguel de Abona.

It's thought he might be using a white Seat Ibiza with fake number plates to get around. One theory is that the suspect stole the plates from another car of the same make and model, registered in a coastal area of Arona, and put them on the car he's now driving. Police investigations revealed that the owner of the original vehicle reported the plates stolen some time ago at a Civil Guard station.

Surveillance camera footage from some businesses shows him wearing a hoodie, making it difficult to identify him. The investigation is ongoing.
