In Tenerife, a man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison and ordered to pay €60,000 in compensation for the sexual abuse of his partner's daughter, which resulted in pregnancy and the birth of a child with a disability.

In a provincial court in Tenerife, a man was sentenced to 15 years in prison. He must also pay €60,000 in compensation. The reason is sexual abuse of his partner's daughter, who was still a child. The abuse lasted for years, and the girl became pregnant.

The court found that the man took advantage of the fact that he lived with the girl's mother and herself since her early childhood. In fact, he was her only father figure.

According to the case files, the man repeatedly assaulted the girl. She dared to report it only after the birth of the child.

The court proved that the attacks occurred when the mother was at work, and the man was left alone with the girl. The abuse continued until her adolescence and stopped when she became a mother.

The child was born with a disability (95%) due to the terrible conditions of childbirth. Everything happened at home, and the same man who, as the court established, raped her shortly before giving birth, helped the woman in labor.

During the trial, the accused was removed from the courtroom twice because he disagreed with the lawyer assigned to him and doubted the fairness of the process.

The man's lawyer insisted on his innocence. He argued that even if he was found guilty, he should not be given more than 10 years in prison. And the reason for the attacks, he said, was that the girl fell in love with him and doubted his masculine power if he did not sleep with her.

The court found that during the years of abuse, the man assured the girl that it was their secret, and her mother should not know about it. Sometimes he even gave her money so that she would not hesitate, especially during vacation.

Police officers who brought the girl to the hospital on June 3, 2023, when she was giving birth, noticed that she was "too withdrawn" and "in shock." Her words were "very concise," which did not correspond to the joy she should have felt about the birth of her child.

When asked about the father of the child, she replied that it was a guy from Fuerteventura who, upon learning about the pregnancy, blocked her phone number and social media accounts.

The police also found it strange that the accused called the hospital, but instead of asking about the girl's condition, he asked what she had said.
