Sarandon to Receive International Goya in Barcelona

American actress Susan Sarandon will receive the International Goya Award on February 28 at Spain's Goya film awards ceremony in Barcelona.

The Spanish Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences is honoring Sarandon for being "one of the most outstanding actresses in Hollywood cinema." They highlight her extensive filmography, which includes many undeniable masterpieces, iconic films that have become part of popular culture, and beloved cult classics. For decades, she has been one of the most prominent and admired faces in Hollywood.

Born in New York in 1946, Sarandon began her career in the 1970s. She is known for starring in films like Thelma & Louise, The Client, The Witches of Eastwick, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Atlantic City, The Hunger, and Dead Man Walking. Throughout her career, she often chose roles that reflected her idea of "character."

Sarandon will be the fifth actor to receive the International Goya, following Cate Blanchett, Juliette Binoche, Sigourney Weaver, and Richard Gere.
