Santa Úrsula Benches Spark Road Safety Fears
A post by Tenerife Vial on X has sparked debate after showing two benches in Santa Úrsula installed directly at the roadside with no barrier, exposing sitters to dangerously close traffic.
A post from the Tenerife Vial account on X (formerly Twitter) has caused a stir, showing two benches in Santa Úrsula installed in a surprising location. The pictures show the benches placed right at the edge of the road, with no barrier or protection between them and passing traffic.
Tenerife Vial wrote in their post: "In Santa Úrsula, I've just seen something unusual. Benches are placed so that people's legs are directly exposed to the road, with no protection, and vehicles pass just a few centimeters away." They added that "a distraction, a sudden swerve... and the person sitting there is at risk of being run over."
The photographs clearly show two benches positioned parallel to the road's edge, with vehicles passing very close by. The post has sparked a debate about the safety of street furniture in areas with traffic, particularly in spots where people are meant to sit or rest.
