Santa Cruz Unveils Extensive Christmas Program
Santa Cruz de Tenerife has unveiled an extensive Christmas program, featuring the Gastronavidad Market with free concerts by Leoni Torres, Despistaos, and Fran Perea, alongside over a hundred activities across its five districts.
Santa Cruz de Tenerife has announced the dates for some of its most anticipated Christmas concerts. The city council, through its Department of Festivals, confirmed that the Gastronavidad Market will run from December 13 to January 6. This event will feature a wide range of family activities and free musical performances in December by three popular artists: Leoni Torres (December 13), Despistaos (December 20), and Fran Perea (December 27). All these shows are part of the city's official Christmas festivities.
Santa Cruz de Tenerife Mayor, José Manuel Bermúdez, highlighted that this program is part of a calendar of activities designed for the entire city. He explained that the "Santa Cruz, where Christmas is born" program caters to all ages and families, incorporating successful formats while also introducing new features like a Children's New Year's Eve, an "Afternoon Party +60," an ice rink in the Ofra-Costa Sur district, and Christmas cinema in García Sanabria Park.
Bermúdez added that the Christmas program aims to boost the city, offering cultural, musical, sports, children's, festive, and charity events. The goal is to keep the city lively during the holidays for both residents and visitors.
The Mayor also mentioned extra cleaning and security measures for the festive period, including more local police on days with large public attendance.
Javier Caraballero, the Councilor for Festivals, explained that the Christmas program will include over a hundred activities spread across the municipality's five districts. He described it as "the golden culmination of a year full of events in a revitalized city that has been more alive than ever, full of concerts, culture, and shows."
Caraballero emphasized the City Council's dedication to culture, commerce, food, and leisure, encouraging everyone to enjoy the festivities. He stated, "We are committed to performances that energize the entire city."
Carlos Tarife, the Councilor for Public Services, provided details on the Christmas lights. The city has invested 900,000 euros, with over 2,000 lights illuminating more than 400 locations and the main entrances to Santa Cruz.
With the arrival of Gastronavidad and an expanded Christmas program, Santa Cruz is ready to end the year with music, activities, and shows for everyone.
