The Santa Cruz de Tenerife Trade Fair and Congress Centre successfully hosted nearly 10,000 attendees this weekend for a boutique festival experience that combined national and local musical acts with diverse leisure activities to boost the regional economy.

The Santa Cruz de Tenerife Trade Fair and Congress Centre has successfully established a new cultural model this weekend, focusing on reaching diverse audiences and bringing major musical events outside of traditional hubs. Organizers reported nearly 10,000 attendees over the two-day event, hosted by Encaro Factory and concluding Sunday with the Summer Pop Tenerife festival.

Supported by the Government of the Canary Islands, the Santa Cruz City Council, and various commercial partners, the event moved away from the typical large-scale festival format. Enrique Camacho, CEO of the production company, explained that the strategy was to create a "boutique" experience. By blending music with leisure, food, and gaming, the organizers aimed to balance spectator comfort with high-quality production.

Sunday’s event was hosted by Tony Aguilar, who kept the show moving like a live radio broadcast. The lineup showcased the current Spanish music scene, featuring established stars like Álvaro de Luna and Leire Martínez—who performed her new solo project—alongside local talent. Artists including Locoplaya, Danny Romero, Lucho RK, La Pantera, Ruslana, Lewis Potter, Mel Ömana, Playacoco, Melania, Postcode, and Fátima Falcón created a diverse mix of urban music, pop, and emerging island voices.

Beyond the music, the concert series—which kicked off with the electronic event Noctámbula—provided a significant boost to the local economy. Organizers estimate that 1,000 professionals were employed in logistics, security, technical setup, and auxiliary services, highlighting how the events sector can create skilled jobs and support the local economy during the summer off-season.

By using a radio-style format to connect with both young and adult audiences, the festival is successfully catering to those looking for more specialized cultural experiences. By pairing national acts like Ruslana and Álvaro de Luna with local Canarian artists, Summer Pop Tenerife has become a key player in the archipelago’s festival circuit, proving that the future of live events lies in offering a complete experience that goes beyond just the music.
