Santa Cruz to Invest €2.5 Million in El Mayorazgo Industrial Estate Upgrade
The Santa Cruz City Council has allocated over 2.5 million euros to modernize the El Mayorazgo industrial estate through road repairs, energy-efficient lighting, and expanded parking facilities.
Tenerife’s logistics infrastructure is set for a major upgrade following the Santa Cruz City Council’s decision to renovate the El Mayorazgo industrial estate. The council has allocated over 2.5 million euros to repair the area's roads, which Public Services head Carlos Tarife described as being in a state of significant disrepair.
Rather than going through a standard public tender, the project will be carried out under the council’s existing framework agreement. This work is part of a wider initiative by the Island Council’s Department of Industry to make Tenerife’s business parks more competitive. The plan aligns with European Union sustainability goals and aims to help the local economy attract new investment.
The project goes beyond simple repaving. It includes upgrading to energy-efficient LED lighting and creating additional parking spaces. These improvements are designed to address the estate's outdated infrastructure, which has previously hindered its growth. By modernizing El Mayorazgo, local authorities hope to bring the site up to current standards and establish it as a key hub for economic activity in the capital.
