Santa Cruz de Tenerife will kick off the 20th anniversary of the TLP Tenerife technology festival this Tuesday by hosting a public screening of the Spain versus France World Cup semifinal match at the city's Exhibition Center.

Santa Cruz de Tenerife will bring together sports fans and digital culture enthusiasts this Tuesday, July 14, 2026. The Island Council and the city’s local government have announced that the World Cup semifinal match between Spain and France will be broadcast on large screens at the city’s Exhibition Center.

The event begins at 8:00 PM and serves as the kickoff for TLP Tenerife 2026. This year marks the 20th anniversary of the technology festival, which runs through July 19. Organizers have set up two dedicated viewing areas within the venue, utilizing the infrastructure already in place for the festival.

This initiative aims to bring different communities together. TLP is supported by the Island Council, the Tenerife Science and Technology Park, the Canary Institute of Cultural Development, the Club Deportivo Tenerife Foundation, and private partners including HiperDino and El Corte Inglés. Throughout the week, the venue will host a variety of activities, including gaming, anime, cosplay, K-Pop, and meet-and-greets with content creators.

Beyond the match itself, the event is part of a broader strategy to revitalize the city’s cultural scene by combining the excitement of national sports with the latest in digital innovation. By hosting the broadcast at the Exhibition Center, organizers hope to create a central hub that appeals to both sports fans and the younger generation interested in technology and digital trends.
