Santa Cruz to Close Roads for Meridiano Shopping Center Accessibility Upgrades
Santa Cruz de Tenerife will implement nighttime road closures on July 30 and 31 to complete accessibility improvements and paving work near the Meridiano Shopping Center.
Work to improve pedestrian access around the Meridiano Shopping Center in Santa Cruz de Tenerife is nearing completion. The City Council is currently finishing a new pedestrian ramp designed to remove barriers and make it easier for people to get around this busy commercial area.
To finish the project, which includes road repairs and new traffic markings, the City Council has announced nighttime road closures. The intersection of Calle Alcalde José Emilio García Gómez, Avenida Manuel Hermoso Rojas, and Calle Álvaro Rodríguez López will be affected on the nights of Sunday, July 30, and Monday, July 31, from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM.
The project is being managed by the Departments of Works and Infrastructure and Mobility and Universal Accessibility. Crews will focus on milling and paving on Sunday night, followed by the installation of road signs on Monday night.
To keep traffic moving during these hours, a detour will be in place. Drivers will be redirected through Avenida Manuel Hermoso Rojas and the streets of Álvaro Rodríguez López, Miguel Maffiotte Miller, Pedro Modesto Campos, and Unión Artística del Cabo. These improvements are part of the city’s ongoing effort to meet modern accessibility standards and ensure safety in areas where pedestrian and vehicle traffic meet.
