Santa Cruz to Build 45 New Public Parking Spaces in La Salud Neighborhood
The Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council has approved a €178,309 project to construct 45 new public parking spaces in the La Salud neighborhood to address local parking shortages.
The La Salud neighborhood in Santa Cruz de Tenerife is set for a major upgrade, with the City Council recently approving plans to build 45 new public parking spaces. The project will be located on the land next to the San Gerardo sports center, an area that has been carefully assessed to ensure it is used as efficiently as possible.
The project, which has a budget of 178,309 euros, involves demolishing the old changing rooms near the sports court to make way for the new parking. This initiative is part of a wider municipal effort to tackle the parking shortage in this densely populated area, directly responding to requests from local residents.
All necessary technical and administrative approvals are now in place. The project was designed by Pres Ingeniería and has received the green light from the city’s urban planning and infrastructure departments, as well as confirmation that the land is ready for development.
City officials say this project is about more than just adding parking; it is a key step in improving the neighborhood’s overall accessibility and safety. By turning an underused space into functional infrastructure, the City Council aims to fulfill its promises to the community and improve the daily lives of those living in the Salud-La Salle district.
